Kia is getting ready to introduce another globally established SUV to the Indian market. The Kia Sorento will launch in India on September 4, 2026, bringing a new three-row premium SUV to the brand’s growing portfolio. For Indian customers, the Sorento will also mark an important milestone for Kia. It will be available with hybrid and diesel powertrain options, giving buyers two very different choices depending on their driving requirements. Production of the India-spec Sorento has already begun at Kia’s manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, ahead of the official launch.
Meet the Kia Sorento
The Sorento is not a new name for Kia globally. First introduced in 2002, the SUV has evolved across multiple generations and has established a strong presence in international markets. The current-generation Sorento combines the practicality expected from a three-row family SUV with the design, technology and comfort features associated with Kia’s newer premium models. Its arrival in India will place it above the Seltos in Kia’s SUV range, offering customers looking for a larger vehicle another option within the Kia family.Kia Sorento India Launch Date
The Kia Sorento is scheduled to launch in India on September 4, 2026. Kia has already opened pre-bookings for the upcoming SUV. Production of the India-spec model has also commenced at the company’s Anantapur plant. The final variant line-up, complete specifications and official Kia Sorento price in India are expected to be announced at the launch.A Distinctive New Kia SUV Design
The India-spec Sorento carries a strong SUV character while following Kia’s latest design direction. At the front, the SUV features vertically positioned LED headlamps accompanied by distinctive LED daytime running lights. Kia’s signature grille occupies the centre, while the sculpted bumper and silver lower detailing give the Sorento a substantial road presence. From the side, the Sorento gets dual-tone alloy wheels, black roof rails and carefully detailed body cladding. At the rear, vertically styled LED tail lamps, an integrated spoiler and clean surfaces complete the design. The overall styling gives the Sorento a premium appearance without losing the practical character of a large family SUV.Three Rows Designed for Family Travel
One of the Sorento’s main attractions for Indian families will be its three-row seating configuration. The cabin has been designed around space, comfort and technology, making the Sorento suitable for everyday family travel as well as longer journeys. A curved display arrangement dominates the dashboard, integrating the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system into a modern cockpit. The India-spec Sorento is also expected to offer features such as:- Panoramic sunroof

- Electrically adjustable front seats

- 360-degree camera
